Ball valves

Image title

The ball valve is the most commonly used valve for the interception of fluid in hydraulic pipes. Its operating mechanism is based on the rotation of a spherical valve fitted with a cylindrical cavity that allows for the closure, opening or throttling of the conveyed flow. This is the operating principle of 2 and 3-port ball valves.

The 3-port ball valve differs from the 2-port in that, instead of the ball having a rectilinear passage, it has an "L" or "T" shaped passage in the ball. These two modes of passage connect three openings that can be communicating or not between each other, depending on the configuration of the valve.

The basic requirement is the quality of the materials used: in effect, by producing the valve body made entirely of AISI 316 or in chrome plated brass with Viton, PTFE and PTFE + GRAPHITE seals, you'll get a very low pressure drop, from friction between the ball and seals, with the subsequent advantage of limited wear and the assurance of having an efficient and durable product.

Ball valves are used in a wide range of industrial sectors (hydraulic, chemical, food, pharmaceutical) and can also be used with chemically aggressive liquids.

Ball valves can be either manually controlled or operated by a lever, as well as powered by pneumatic actuators with a single and dual effect or rotating electric motors. They can be set up with the following types of connections: threaded female and fixed connections with clamp for quick dismantling (clamp connections). Valves with special connections already set up for assembly in series are also available.

All the valves are tested before leaving our factory. Furthermore, Italvalvole® is constantly carrying out research into, and developing, its range of products as well as offering the possibility of producing valves with the technical specifications expressed by the customer.
